A new 60-unit townhome development has been approved in east Downtown Round Rock.
The 6.35-acre tract of undeveloped property is located north of East Main Street and east of East Liberty Avenue. The Round Rock Planning and Zoning Commission and Round Rock City Council unanimously approved the rezoning of the property from commercial (C-1) and residential (SF-2) to a PUD (Planned Unit Development) during their respective September meetings.
Per the PUD zoning, the townhomes can be 2.5 stories maximum, must have alley access to garages, and 13 large trees on the property will be preserved.
Downtown Round Rock has seen an increase in new residential developments in recent years, including The Depot townhome project which will include 80 townhomes at buildout. The first phase of 23 townhomes is expected to be completed in early 2023.
Construction timelines for the townhomes have not yet been announced by the builder, Pulte.
