A new 60-unit townhome development, Monarch on Main, broke ground on Dec. 6 in Downtown Round Rock.
The 6.35-acre property is located north of East Main Street and east of East Liberty Avenue. The two-story townhomes will feature attached garages while the community will include walking trails and a common park area. According to the developer, Pulte Homes, sales are expected to begin in late 2024 with construction completion in early 2025.
Previously, the Round Rock Planning and Zoning Commission and Round Rock City Council approved the rezoning of the property from commercial (C-1) and residential (SF-2) to a PUD (Planned Unit Development) in September 2022.
Downtown Round Rock has seen an increase in new residential developments in recent years, including The Depot townhome project which will include 80 townhomes at buildout. The first phase of 23 townhomes is expected to be completed in 2024.
