Four Downtown Round Rock brunches you don’t want to miss

Downtown Round Rock offers several brunch options, whether you want to unwind outdoors on a shaded patio or you’re in the mood for lunch but could be tempted by a breakfast dish.

URBAN Eat.Drink
110 South Harris Street

URBAN Eat.Drink opens at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, offering a full brunch menu those days, as well as a limited brunch Monday through Friday (doors opening at 10 a.m.).

On the sweet side, the spicy chicken and waffle includes pepper-infused Round Rock Honey over fried chicken breast, fresh fruit and plate-filling waffles. The banana bread french toast offers a complex mix of sweetness derived from berries, bananas and banana bread, combined with pecans, whipped cream and bacon or sausage.

The menu has a detailed range of breakfast and lunch items, or you could simply opt for the full monte – with about every menu item you could ask for, including eggs, silver dollar pancakes, bacon, sausage and potatoes, plus toast.

Drinks include a variety of wines and cocktails, and the mimosa flight livens up any table.

The Ruby Bar
400 Fannin Avenue

Tucked away Downtown near Brushy Creek, The Ruby Bar serves brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday, and caters to the general public as well as clientele of The Ruby Hotel next door.

Its brunch menu is simple but elegant, with items such as the bagel breakfast sandwich including scrambled eggs, bacon, aged cheddar and black garlic mayo served on a bagel and accompanied by an arugula salad or potatoes.

The dutch baby pancake – a little lighter and fluffier than a regular pancake – includes a bit of lemon zest to pop with powdered sugar, berries and maple syrup.

The ruby red velvet french toast utilizes organic ingredients, with beet powder to make the red velvet batter, teamed with vanilla cream cheese, seasonal berries, powdered sugar, maple syrup and sourdough bread.

Other items on the menu include a brunch burger (with beef, bacon, cheese and an egg), chilaquiles and a breakfast platter, each of which can be teamed with coffee, juice, Ruby’s bloody mary or a mimosa carafe.

The Rock Sports Bar
114 East Main Street

Stop by this lively bar and grill for your sports fix and brunch served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Get your omelets or breakfast tacos specialized your way with a variety of available ingredients, or pick between waffles, french toast or pancakes. There’s also a Nolan Ryan angus-infused breakfast burger – complete with eggs and bacon – and a breakfast sandwich on a kaiser bun.

The full experience can be found in The Rock’s chicken and waffles, its brunch chicken fried steak, or The Rock skillet – replete with potatoes, eggs and four other items of your choice.

Rock Sports Bar also offers a sampling of drink specials on the weekend, with bloody marys and mimosas on deck as well as domestic and imported beers.

Finley’s
410 West Main Street

Brunch comes to Finley’s on West Main from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday.

A variety of items come available a la carte, but the brunch menu remains largely specialized, with only six items. It includes an omelet made to order, but Finley’s delivers its own brand of Chicken and Waffles, a Biscuit Sandwich and a Classic Breakfast.

Flavors come multi-layered in the Texas Brisket Hash – starting with some green onion, Colby jack cheese, garlic, tater tots, bacon and, finally, shredded brisket all joined together.

The Mimosa Bucket brings the spirit with your choice of juices and a chilled bottle of champagne.
