Located just steps from Brushy Creek, Living Waters Fly Fishing is more than just a place to grab gear. It’s a community hub built on a foundation of education, conservation, and a shared love for the outdoors.
“Living Waters Fly Fishing is really based around three primary pillars: education, community, and conservation,” says owner Chris Johnson. A lifelong member of the Round Rock community, Johnson has spent over 30 years here, and his deep roots are reflected in the mission of the shop. That mission comes to life through free weekend classes, private casting lessons, and a full-service guide operation.
“Through the act of education, we build community. After we’ve built that community, we’re able to really empower them to make positive changes in the realm of conservation.” It’s this thoughtful approach that gives Living Waters its unique identity as a fly shop with a clear sense of purpose.
The location in Downtown Round Rock wasn’t a coincidence. “Downtown Round Rock to me is the heart of Round Rock. I’ve lived here for over 30 years, and it’s the part of Round Rock I always wanted to be in as a business.” With parks, walkability, and a creek nearby, Downtown Round Rock is ideal for local anglers. “What a great thing, as a fly shop business owner, to say, ‘Hey, you can literally fish just a couple blocks away.’”
For anyone curious about fly fishing or looking for a place that feels as much like a community center as it does a specialty shop, Living Waters Fly Fishing is ready to welcome you in.
